Hi, I’m Heather Dowling, a Tempe native, local mom of four, educator, and proud Apex owner.
I grew up right here in Tempe in the Kyrene School District, and today all four of my kids attend schools in the same community that helped shape me. Education has remained a big part of my life. I hold K–8 teaching credentials and still love getting into the classroom as a substitute teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels.


Before moving into education and entrepreneurship, my professional background was in hedge fund investor relations and fundraising, so bringing those worlds together to help support our local schools feels like a natural fit.

When I’m not working or in a classroom, you’ll probably find me at a spin class, on the water, or catching live music at a festival. Tempe is home, and I love finding ways to give back to the schools and families that make this community such a great place to raise a family.

Scott Mackowski

Hi, I’m Scott Mackowski. I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, but made my way to Arizona as a young adult—and it quickly became home.
I went on to raise four amazing humans right here in the Scottsdale Unified School District, and my wife, Hillary, and I are very proud to say we’re now 4-for-4 on college graduates! Family is truly the center of my world, and some of my favorite times are spent together at our family lake house in the Ozarks.


Professionally, I spent 10 years working in operations at the corporate office, an experience that shaped the way I approach business, relationships, and getting things done.

Outside of work, college football season is serious business, and you can usually find me playing sand volleyball or golf or at a card table, where I’ve been known to be pretty tough competition. I’m grateful to call Arizona home and to now have the opportunity to stay connected to the schools and community where we raised our family.

Meet Jonnie Tsunami 🎶

Originally from Chicago, JS has been bringing the energy to Apex for 8 years and has a huge heart for helping kids—especially those from underserved and minority backgrounds—feel seen, valued, and important. An exceptionally hard worker with big dreams, JS hopes to one day own an Apex territory and continue serving students and communities. When not fundraising, you’ll find Jonnie Tsunami working nights and weekends at restaurants, thrifting, or soaking up the energy at a music festival!

Awesome Abri ⚡

Bubbly, silly, and overflowing with energy, AL is the kind of person who leads with heart and somehow stays calm when everything around them gets crazy! Originally from Texas and part of a big, close-knit family with tons of nieces and nephews, AL brings joy wherever they go. Outside of school fundraisers, you’ll find AL jet-skiing, tackling a new art project, hunting for thrift-store treasures, or making everyone wonder, “Where do you GET all that energy?!”

A Mesa native from a big, close-knit family, Jammin Ammon has deep roots in the community—including nieces and nephews attending schools in several of the districts we serve! A U.S. military veteran who lived in the Philippines for three years and speaks Tagalog fluently, Jammin Ammon loves traveling, trying new things, and spending time with family. Married, adventurous, and service-minded, Jammin Ammon brings a unique mix of local connection and worldly experience to every school they serve.

This streamlined approach, combined with our engaging leadership curriculum, is proven to help schools raise two to three times more than traditional methods.

Are the programs inclusive for all students?

Every single student gets to participate in the fun! Our programs are completely inclusive. Regardless of a family's ability to contribute financially, every child joins in the daily leadership lessons, earns daily character wristbands, and celebrates at the final high-energy fitness event alongside their classmates.

How are the funds distributed to schools?

Funds raised are transferred directly to the participating school's account, typically within a few business days after the program ends.
